I began my career as a journalist on trade and local papers in the North West.
I've been a Government Information Officer in the days before they were called 'spin doctors' - working in the Home Office, DTI and Number Ten. Since 1988 I have been a consultant for a wide range of corporate and charity clients with an even wider range of political and media issues where I provided strategic advice and/or implementation of communications programmes covering media, politics and public affairs.
I have been editor and owner of Shout99 since 2003.
