Rob McNaught's put a web page up with the background to his discovery of this comet and the very first images taken of it.

It'll be worth keeping an eye on, since he's in Australia and the southern hemisphere looks like it's in for a spectacular show when the comet passes perihelion and starts heading southwards to below the ecliptic.
