Detectorising finds site
by Bruce Ure at 22:08 17/04/08 (Blogs::Bruce)
I've been meaning to catalogue some of my finds.
Trouble is, they're all crap so far.

So I thought I'd catalogue them somewhat tongue-in-cheekly, and if I ever find anything worth finding, start doing it properly.

I give you: bruce's actual detectorising finds.

Brilliant :-)

You do realise that a 1944 penny is actually quite rare and worth about £15000?

Hey maybe I was a bit hasty... there's one here for £7!

Ah well, now Britannia's been unceremoniously dumped from our coinage for the first time since the 13th Century perhaps prices'll go up :-)

National identity? We don't need no steeking national identity...

Hmmm, let's see.

1/240th of a Pound in 1944 would only buy you a small semi-detached house and a slap up meal, whereas nowadays it'll buy you a major international bank, two dozen MPs and the Pope.

Seriously though, £1 in 1944 is equivalent to £27.74 in 2008.
