FOAMing in 2008
by Simon at 17:17 09/02/08 (Blogs::Simon)
Just had notice from Julian about the FOAM activities for 2008.

James, I know you wanted to come along to one of these events.

They're scheduled for 10.00 on the 16th and the 24th Feb, and it'll be up in Lake Woods again.

Unfortunately, I'm double booked (archaeology-wise) on the 16th - who'd have thought it - as I'm already committed to helping the Imber Conservation Group repair the tank-damaged linear feature near Kill Barrow on Imber range (which is also what I was doing this morning, as it happens).

I should be able to make it over the Lake Woods by early afternoon though, so if anyone wants to come along and help with the FOAM scrub clearance, pipe up and we'll organise a rendezvous. Or indeed, if anyone fancies coming along to Imber to help restore the linear, also pipe up.

Bank restored a bit - it'll grass over eventually

So what would you rather do tomorrow - repair a linear feature or cut down trees, or both?

I'll be leaving for Imber from here around 9.30am, then (when done around noon) heading from Imber to park at Druid's Lodge and walk down the byway to Lake Woods for the afternoon.

If you want to go along to the FOAM thing in the morning on your own, meet 10.00 am at Grid ref SU 124374 in the yard of Borland's Farm.

In the afternoon, I'll most likely be parked here.

Probably easiest to park behind me and then follow the byway north east to Lake Woods, where you'll find us (look out for the smoke from the fire).

Text me on the day if you get lost :-)
