Oooh, might well be interested. Good training for the 100km Trailwalker.

Well, the 26 miles walk starts at 7am ish, and at 3mph it'd take 9 hours with a 20 minute break.
It'd be a bit of a march, I fancy :-)

If I do it I'll probably run it. The only sticking point is whether I'll get permission... I've a LOT of runs around then.
Are you seriously interested in Trailwalker? If so we might have enough for *two* teams now. But you'd have to commit to putting in some serious (12, 14, 16 hour) practice walks...

For the avoidance of doubt, I'm NOT interested in Trailwalker.

Anything strenuous usually scares me :-)
Wandering aimlessly in a confused state is my usual preferred behaviour ;-)

Apparently official policy on hangers-on is that they are at the discretion of the Gurkhas, whose main priority is safety. At times more than four people have been allowed to walk as a team (although only four medals, meals, etc were provided). In practice, though, the walk is (almost entirely?) on public footpaths and as such there's nothing to stop anyone who wants to from walking alongside.
It's only a small leap of imagination to extend that to bikes. I expect they'd turn a blind eye to an accompanying cyclist so long as they were respectful and not disruptive.
As for train ride and cycling / camping... bring it on!

I'll have to do some serious calendar-gazing. Let's take this to mail.
