Cool! And thanks for the double mention. :-)

My Mac OSX FTP client is Cyberduck which is free and the author has also contributed some bits to Vienna.

My pleasure :-)

Cyberduck looks very good. Seems I didn't need to buy Interarchy :-/

Transmit is supposed to be the dogs danglies for FTP

One feature, apparently, is you can set up 'folder pairs' so when you drag a file onto the Transmit icon it can be automatically transferred to a specified server depending on which folder you dragged it from.

DOpus, quite right. And on the same theme, Path Finder for the Mac, which having given up on before I have now come to love. And I'm trying QuickSilver again too, hopefully it won't keep crashing like it did on my Mini.

Winamp, nah: VLC. Winamp feature-crept its way off my list a while back. In fact Cog would prolly be my Windows audio player of choice if it were ported to Windows (and if I ever played audio on Windows). It's about as simple as you can get.

It's still crap though, on Mac or Windows. It's only a sovereign app because it's the only way to get the data off my GPS. Once it's there I immediately export it and load it into SportTracks, which is a much better piece of software. It's Windows only but of course VMWare and Parallels mean that's not really an issue any more.

D'Oh!

I just realised SportTracks now imports direct from GPS devices, including the ForeRunner 305...

WooHoo!

That has a ring to it.

I think someone should write a piece of software called 'EatMyShorts'.

I think you are right. I wonder if you could enmesh their APIs and create a Frankenstein 3rd party product :)

One problem (of, er, many) would be manually going through each map to decide what was 'best'.

Kent is much better than GE's green and grey blob-matter.

The res doesn't seem as high as GE in New Malden but perhaps GE merely interpolates the higher resolutions.

Not tried the 3d stuff yet.
