Kinetic Pigeon Art
by Bruce Ure at 16:04 12/07/05 (Blogs::Bruce)
This is what happens when you are a dusty woodpigeon and you fly into my window one sunny afternoon:

The detail in the residue is quite amazing. The wing feather outlines are obvious, but you can also see the line of the beak, and in fact the eye socket and beak give it a surprised and disgruntled look the likes of which I'm not sure it would have had time to formulate in such a brief space of time, so is probably just coincidence.

Luckily the pigeon was OK.

No, it didn't hurt a bit.

Oh, the pigeon (arf arf).

Yes and it did make quite a thump. I was surprised to see it just fly off again. Although it was with its mate so perhaps it was actually in agony but pretending it was fine, so as not to look more of a fool.
