Re: Testcard and music Bruce Ure - 12:09 04/10/04
Not here they're not - I get:

The network connection has failed. (Error=C00D0029)

Cannot open. Please verify that the path and filename are correct and try again. (Error=C00D0029)

Feck :-(

Re: Testcard and music Simon - 12:19 04/10/04

Hang on, you need to call.... GIO!

Or GI-Joe as they are [un]affectionately known. And the meme is spreading so my time at Unilever has not been completely wasted :)

If there were any chance of catching it to disc I'd be grateful.

Catching to disk Simon - 12:42 04/10/04

Re: Catching to VCR Simon - 16:37 04/10/04
Poxy Windows Media streaming - I've had to swap between CNN, FOX and the webcast repeatedly.

Great words David Crowson - 16:39 04/10/04
by Burt Rutan about 'that other Space Agency'

'They looked at us and thought we were a bunch of homebuilders.....now they're thinking "We're' screwed"'

Class.

Too right!

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep! Simon - 12:16 04/10/04
Damn, they've junked the music in favour of a continuous beep.

However, they're streaming real pictures while they continue to set it all up.

Best quote heard before the beep (conversation between the techies):

"I'm on my 19th hour"

"Jeez - you should get the X Prize!"

If at first you don't succeed David Crowson - 17:17 04/10/04
or you're having to use WMS then the answer is , record the repeat :)

Sorted.....

1) I get home
2) I've mixed all the bits togethor with Movie Maker...

Should be ready by 8ish....

Re: If at first you don't succeed Bruce Ure - 17:26 04/10/04
Ta muchly!

I have to say, I am stunned at the apparent lack of interest shown by the world's media.

Is it me, or is this history in the making and people are failing to even notice?

:bu:

Re: If at first you don't succeed David Crowson - 17:27 04/10/04
Ahh, but you are expecting the worlds media to pay attention to earth shattering news , when in fact they're more interested in what boxer shorts Beckham is wearing today....

My expectations were met by them....

Re: If at first you don't succeed Gordon Hundley - 18:58 04/10/04
Apparently it is more important over here to know that Kerry has closed the gap to Bush in a few polls. And that Mt. St. Helens hasn't erupted yet.

Pardon? Simon - 17:22 04/10/04
What repeat? Where? URL!!
--
simon
Re: Pardon? David Crowson - 17:24 04/10/04
Same URL, they had to use something as filler I guess

Just lucky I was still recording the chat when they showed the repeat :)

Ah! Simon - 17:44 04/10/04
Yes, I caught a tiny bit of that.

Still watching the stream, which seems to be having ad breaks every 2 minutes - but luckily the ads aren't in the stream so you get to watch the presenters swearing at each other :-)

Re: Ah! David Crowson - 17:51 04/10/04
:)

'but we haven't even shown the champ car thing yet'

Who is that English woman presenter, and how do I get her job ;-p

--
bombholio

Re: Ah! Simon - 18:07 04/10/04
"We can't do them in that order, it doesn't make sense. We haven't even heard from Pete about the X Prize cup. Jesus!"

Never seen the woman presenter before, but she's better than any of the American ones they've had in the past.

Re: Ah! Gordon Hundley - 01:25 05/10/04
I didn't remember her either. It's former ITV weather girl Laura Greene.

Re: Second X Prize Flight David Crowson - 22:54 04/10/04
vids now up...
some are very big, some are very small.....

preflight (BIG)
apogee
reentry
descent
prelanding
pilot must live
postflight(BIG)

Pre and post flight is where the action is at, but the others are small by comparison.

Re: Second X Prize Flight David Crowson - 23:08 04/10/04
PS the replay is in postflight (along with Burt Rutan and Paul Allens speeches)
