purchased a copy of Stardock www.stardock.com Object desktop.

Spent the last 24hrs tweaking my windoze laptop to replicate OSX.

Was overjoyed when i found someone has ported the old OS8 grouch extention to Desktop X.

Now im looking at creating my own desktop X components.
