Damn, I didn't win.
by Simon at 12:54 31/05/07 (Blogs::Simon)
Although I also suggested the winning choice of 'radio' as the single most important patent yet granted, I didn't win the competition at New Scientist for a trip into space.
Pooh :-(

Well done Ian Anderson of Staffordshire - lucky sod, he did mention Tesla though (as did I).

WinATripToSpace.co.uk winning entry

Now that *would* have been a prize... :(

Yeah, and would have fulfilled my third and final ambition in life - to see the Earth from space.

Go on then... solar eclipse? Can't guess the second though. See hawkwind live? ;-)

See a shuttle (or other manned spacerocket) launch, which I managed to do a few years ago.

You're right about the 1999 total solar eclipse being the other one - it was in my diary since I was about 10 years old. Got to see totality from the deck of a cross channel ferry - I'd have been *seriously* miffed if I'd gone to Cornwall instead.
