I´ve recently been playing with portable apps through necessity (not allowed to install firefox here, so I run it off my USB stick)

Crikey! Why am I still faffing around with spinny disks...? Oh yeah, speed, price and they don't run out of write-cycles :) I want to know what happened to the multi-TB 1cm-cube optical molecular storage devices we were promised a decade ago. -- simon

As anticipated, many of the companies making the most promising manufacturing progress on holographic and molecular storage were bought by the Lockheed Martins and Fairchilds of the world. -- DrGoon
