Re: Time Gordon Hundley - 02:15 27/04/06
It's not a unique event really. After all, it was 01:02:03 04/05/06 on April 5th around these parts, and there was 01/02/03 04:05:06 too. It really comes down to how you want to lay stuff out.

But every second is special and unique. Bless em.

Us lower case folks are used to DOW MMM DD HH:MM:SS TZ YEAR by absolute default (eg: Thu Apr 27 13:27:15 EDT 2006), though we have localization through installed language sets that few people use, and a format string to make it any variation we desire. :)

What you want is:

alias date='date -u +%H:%M:%S' '%d/%m/%y'

Assuming that you're taking GMT/UTC to be that which is worthy rather than your local heretical summer time. :)
