Amenemipt cubit rod

Note to self: find a real picture of this artefact and check the hieroglyphs match the transcription shown.

It's a second millenium BC measuring rod from Egypt with clearly marked divisions that are obviously related to a mathematical sequence, but most of the symbols are not yet understood.

Just a thought - it's in a museum, so call the Museo delle Antichita Egizie di Torino photo department and request an image for research purposes. The British Museum will probably assist you if you explain how you can't speak Italian and all that stuff. :)
