Point.

So it's a general 'lack of someone else in the house' feeling rather than 'no-one here at the moment' then?

I wish we had the cash to go off and set up this tech village we're always talking about.

A few acres of land, a few chalets, big communal house in the middle, catering for both permanent and temporary residents.

GeekRetreat.com?

Heck, if religions and management consultants can manage it I don't see why we couldn't.

so in order to stave off the madness of talking to myself, I have acquired an robotic friend...

PS Yes, on the Technovillage thing, but it'll have to be in France.......

RoboSapien - A fusion of technology and personality

Hmmm - I wonder if that's a Genuine People Personality.

It comes out of NASA, so I doubt it ;-p

Here's a bit about the Inventor , Mark Tilden.

Mark, the designer of Robosapien, is a robotics physicist who has worked for NASA, DARPA and JPL through Los Alamos National Laboratory. He developed the basics for biomorphic robotics in 1988; Robosapien is the first commercially available robot based upon this principle.

What an excellent robot, it can dance , sing, wolf-whistle, fart, burp, do hip-thrusts, do a high-five and all sorts of daft stuff and when you turn it off it says 'oh, Rosebud'

Possibly the rudest toy I've ever owned (if you don't count the griff with the sports exhaust:)

oh Rosebud

Hmmm - so the designer reckons he's built an electronic version of William Randolph Hearst then does he?
