In this portrait of Picasso's wife Olga, there is a sharp nosed, dark profile around the face that relates to a similar profile on the right in "The Unknown Masterpiece" and to an almost identical profile on the right in "The Three Dancers".
This is a very rare feature in Picasso's work. It is a secretive mask that Picasso that Picasso employs to, at times, conceal the identity of his wife. It relates to the dark and destructive side of his marriage with Olga.
