April 13th 2029 - naked eye asteroid close approach
by Simon at 11:24 05/02/05 (Blogs::Simon)
Asteroid 2004 MN4 - the one that was touted as the most likely to hit Earth when first noticed, has had its orbit calculated more accurately as a result of further observations, and it turns out it'll be visible to the naked eye as it goes past Earth at a lower altitude than the geostationary satellites.
It's projected to be about magnitude 3.3 (definitely naked eye), and will be moving pretty quickly across the night sky.

One to stay up for :-)
