This word ultimately derives from the Latin corona, a garland of flowers, as worn at festivals and ceremonies; from that we get to the diminutive corolla, a little garland, and thence to corollarium, the money paid for a small garland.
From the latter's nuance of "a small amount, freely given", we then get to "a gratuity, a tip"; and this sense then extends to logic, as "a small logical extension easily yielded by an existing proposition".
