I really liked an image from the last of this year's series of Royal Institution Christmas Lectures. The best representation I could find after a quick search was this image:
.. from www.codeproject.com. If a magnetic pendulum centered over 3 magnets (colour-coded as in the right hand image) is moved to any point and released, the fractal image on the left shows over which magnet it will finally come to rest.
