Cookies, security and privacy - oh my!
by Simon at 15:43 06/06/03 (Blogs::Simon)
Paranoia about privacy is one thing ('ooh, I must block all cookies as they're evil' is something I hear often), but coupled with a complete disregard for other aspects of securing your system it's hardly an effective defence against, well, anything very much.
Basically, if you plug your brand new machine into the Internet without any form of sensible firewall (hardware or software), then setting your browser privacy settings to 'High' is pointless.

Don't let that tiny point stop you yelling at the webmaster of a site you might encounter that depends on cookies to make it work properly though...
