Google Wave
by Simon at 14:34 02/10/09 (Blogs::Simon)
I'm about 10 minutes into the video presentation, and already I'm thinking this is what we wanted to do with CIX waaaay back when.

As a definition of how far ahead of ourselves and technology we were, this pretty much is it.

However, such a big meme needed a lot of brains to work on it so I'm grateful for two things.

1) That it's been created at all

2) That it's going to be open source

Now all I need is an invite...

I tried to have a quick look at Threadsy recently, requested an invite but nothing showed up.

Re: Google Wave Simon - 18:46 17/10/09
Mine turned up the other day (via Graham Freeman) - I'm akhen3sir@...

Dave - what's your ID? I've guessed at triumph.tiger@... and added that to one of my waves.

Sadly I'm not able to invite others at the mo' :-(

I've added you Simon, can you give me any of our other mates' addresses?

For bizarre historical reasons I'm scottcheggs@googlewave.com.

Check the participants in your 'Dude' wave - I've added SteveP and DaveC.

See also the CIX wave.

:-)

Definitely a CIXen thing. The Ops Team invented the Internet, remember? I distinctly remember doing that...

When you eventually do get your invite through, I'll add you to the CIX wave (which is for all CIXen, present and past)

Re: Google Wave David Crowson - 23:33 24/10/09
3 days for the one I was expecting, but in the meantime another one from out of the blue appeared from another source, so I got 2. shame I can't forward the spare to someone who wants one.

Re: Google Wave Simon - 09:20 28/10/09
There are 'public' waves which are open to everyone with a GW account, so you need never be alone in howling into the void :-)

But Google did screw up the invite system, I agree.
