How many houses could you fit within Stonehenge's area?
by Simon at 19:01 04/04/08 (Blogs::Simon)
Wiltshire County Council's core strategy document (presently out for consulation) mentions planning for new housing and discusses a desired density per hectare.
That's roughly the same area as that defined by the bank and ditch around Stonehenge.

Guess how many houses they reckon you could fit in there?

Go on, guess.

It's 30-50 houses per hectare.

Basically it gives each of 50 houses a maximum 55' x 40' plot (or thereabouts), not allowing for any access roads or footpaths.
