Well it's counting the chickens before they're hatched time, ...

Looks like I've found a lender that doesn't need direct debit payments, big joy .....

Cool!
Re: I feel David Crowson - 16:01 28/07/05
Strange , yesterday I was convinced that the fight was over and I'd be having the house repo'd, today I've found the right mortgage, and I've got someone coming round shortly to buy my car, and someone else is sending me some money for the custom seat I have for the bike I no longer have.

Question is, should I buy a lottery ticket before the luck runs out :)

And can someone tell me how to get off this roller-coaster as it's making me feel sick :-p

cheers, although I'm still quite tempted to sell up and buy that gaff in France....8 beds, a cave and an en-suite restuarant for 45K....

Re: I feel Bruce Ure - 13:10 31/07/05
This is an amazing property.

Fancy a collaborative renovation project?

8 rooms make it a viable do-up and rent out, either as apartments or a guest house.

Although the 'do-up' part would cost a fortune, and take forever.

But I'm also thinking of selling up and buggering off. Though... you're not any more, presumably... since you've now sorted your mortgage?

Re: I feel David Crowson - 13:44 31/07/05
I'm up for it, mortgage not sorted yet and as I blew up my last remaining motorcycle last night
I might well be leaving soon....

I've sent off for details, still waiting on the agent getting back to me...

and even if the mortgage gets sorted I've a mind to rent the house out and use the spare money on a development project.

Re: I feel Bruce Ure - 13:55 31/07/05
Ouch. How did that happen?
Re: I feel David Crowson - 14:05 31/07/05
I think (although I'm not totally sure) that 5th or 6th gear has disintegrated
and is flailing around in the gearbox...
managed to limp home but it doesn't sound good, or cheap to fix....

So now I'm totally transportless (car has no MOT:(

The timing couldn't be worse..

Fuggin' rollercoaster...

Not that driving without one is all that heinous a crime. Granted you could do without the grief of getting caught, but you've never been all that much of a stickler for total legality when it comes to vehicular matters now have you ;-)

Or, crazy I know, but why not get it MOT'd? Not an instant solution but mid next week for sure, and also an MoT would make it worth much more. If money is a problem to get it through then I might be able to help, depending on the cost of any necessary repairs.

Nail-head.

If I can get the car MOT'd and taxed and sold then I can fix the bike but
I just don't have the cashflow to do it....
the car should go through OK (hand brake needs fixing but that's about it)

Why is nothing ever simple :-/

Re: I feel Bruce Ure - 14:53 31/07/05
Or, given that my Trooper's just failed it's MoT and may be uneconomical to repair, how about I buy your car then. How much did you say you wanted for it? And the other details, by mail if you'd rather.

I may or may not pay scant disregard for certain speed limits (as I travel at a speed I judge to be safely appropriate for the given road conditions, traffic density and weather) but when it comes to tax and insurance I can assure you that I stick to the rules at all times.

Re: 2 Bloody Weeks Bruce Ure - 13:33 01/08/05
blimey, what about other dealers?

You could try Dave Wilkins from cix, seems friendly and gives the impression of being not too busy (by choice):

Dave Wilkins motorcycles

I'd be happy to cart it over there in the Trooper (leaving aside the slight no-mot issue ;-)

Re: 2 Bloody Weeks David Crowson - 13:39 01/08/05

Re: 2 Bloody Weeks Bruce Ure - 13:49 01/08/05
No, I *will* be late. I'm not late yet :-)

I should have said twoISH.

BST expect me nearer three... sorry, forgot about camera kit etc. But then you're not going anywhere anyway :)

Re: 2 Bloody Weeks David Crowson - 13:50 01/08/05
That's OK , I always allow for BST (Bruces Special Timing:)

Re: 2 Bloody Weeks David Crowson - 17:35 02/08/05
Tried them all,all the Triumph dealers, non-Triumph dealers, local bike shops, local and non-local mechanics.

2 weeks, it seems, is a short wait at this time of year, one bloke said 'Sure bring it in, we'll be able to look at it mid September' !!

I've put the word out on the tiger list and pistonheads appealing for mechanics, but if all else fails then looks like I'm on compulsory holiday for a few weeks :-/
