According to Prof. Terence Meaden, who knows pretty much all there is to know about the carvings on Stonehenge and whom I met yesterday on a special access visit with Dr. Ed Krupp (Director of the Griffith Observatory, LA), this spiral isn't recorded anywhere in the literature.
He could be mistaken, of course, but if he's correct then I've discovered a hitherto unknown ancient carving :-)
