Venus is about 68 million miles from the Sun, a little over two thirds of the distance between the Sun and Earth, so the size of the silhouette in relation to the Sun disk is somewhat exaggerated.

But it does put it into some kind of perspective, especially when you see images of sunspots that are larger than Earth (quite common)
